Baja California’s Aerospace sector in bloom

The Esterline and Hutchinson Aerospace Companies announced the expansion of their operations in Baja California, with US$75 million investments. Esterline seeks to supplement its U.S. operations by enlarging its capacity in Tijuana, so it is estimated that the firm will invest US$35 million while increasing its workforce by 300 people from this year

on, with the expansion of its sensors, connectors and plastic molding divisions. On the other hand, the French Company Hutchinson, confirmed an undertaking to invest US$40 million during the next 5 years. Furthermore, Spectrum ratified its project to produce the first Learjet type commercial aircraft fully made in Mexico, with a US$300 million investment, to support the construction of the S-40 model aircraft in Mexicali.
