The Coahuila State government began promoting the entity, after they announced that Jaguar Land Rover plans to invest close to US$500 million in the Americas and that Mexico is a strong competitor to attract it. The Governor Ruben Moreira Valdez visited Jaguar´s Technology Center and the production plant located at Castle Bromwich in Birmingham, England in order to meet with company officials, who said that the carmakers installed in the area of Saltillo-Ramos Arizpe-Derramadero produce one of four cars and one of three trucks that are assembled in Mexico. Mr. Moreira said the auto industry represents 44% of the Coahuila´s economy and that its skilled labor helped to strengthen the automotive cluster in the Southeast Region of the State.
