Exports through the Juarez-El Paso region grew 14%

Exports through the Juarez-El Paso region grew by 14.4 % during the first quarter this year, according to the U.S. Census Bureau, Foreign Trade Division. Records show that Mexico exported merchandise valued US$12.8 billion, which is 14.4% more than the US$11.2 billion for the same period in 2015. Imports grew even more in this lapse; the U.S. introduced goods into Mexico worth US$10.9 billion by this region, representing 18.1% more than the US$9.8 billion record during the first trimester in 2015. As a result, trade surplus in Mexico was reduced by 3%, shifting from US$1.95 billion to US$1.89 billion.
