Walmart invests more than US$9.4 million in Monterrey

MONTERREY – Walmart México and Centroamérica announced the start-up of a new distribution center dedicated to its e-commerce business. The logistics complex is located in the city of Monterrey, from where its deliveries of merchandise from its online catalog will be made.

With an investment of US$9.4 million, this project will have a positive impact on the states of Nuevo León, Coahuila, Chihuahua, Baja California, Sonora, Tamaulipas, Durango, San Luis Potosí, and Zacatecas.

“We are gaining inertia and accelerating our omnichannel growth to exceed the expectations of Mexican families,” said Gabriela Buenrostro, corporate communications assistant director of Walmart México and Centroamérica.

It is worth mentioning that the distribution center in Monterrey is added to the one that recently opened the company in the city of Guadalajara and to which it had already been operating for several years in Mexico City. With these three logistics complexes, the retailer is committed to strengthening its omnichannel infrastructure in the country and improving its level of service in the main cities nationwide.
