At least 9,000 jobs have been created in Coahuila during 2017, thanks to investment, both foreign and local. Jose Antonio Gutierrez, Secretary of Economic Development, Competitiveness and Tourism, said that new investment projects will be disclosed soon; some automotive investment is aimed to La Laguna zone, or to the South Eastern area, while energy investment is approaching the dessert region. In some instances, companies will start operations, but will not hold public ceremonies.
