YUMA, AZ – The City of Yuma, Arizona has ended emergency declarations related to the Covid-19 pandemic.
Following actions taken by Arizona Governor Doug Ducey, who since March 30 has ended the State’s Covid-19 Emergency Declaration, the City of Yuma is also ending pandemic-related proclamations.
Arizona has reached a threshold set by the Arizona Department of Health Services (ADHS) that shows the virus is no longer as widespread as it once was.
Yuma’s emergency proclamations provided opportunities for businesses to temporarily relocate outdoors through an extension of premises, a measure that will expire 60 days after the local emergency end date (June 5, 2022).
The City Council encouraged all businesses to work with city staff for opportunities to continue some outdoor operations. Local businesses looking to explore areas for permanent extension of premises should contact the appropriate county and state government bodies and agencies for information.
In addition, the City has launched an opportunity for businesses located in the Mall Maintenance and Parking District to lease adjacent properties to expand their facilities. Businesses wishing to do so will need permission from the property owners.
While the City and ADHS continue to encourage Arizonans to get vaccinated to protect against the disease, individuals were advised to choose to implement appropriate mitigation measures based on each individual’s health situation.
