BRYAN, TX – Governor Greg Abbott announced that CertainTeed LLC will build a new roofing manufacturing and distribution facility in Bryan, Texas.
CertainTeed, a subsidiary of Compagnie de Saint Gobain, manufactures exterior and interior building products. According to the Texas government, the project is expected to create 130 new jobs and will invest around US$140 million in said proyect.
Abbott reported that CertainTeed has been awarded a US$546,000 Texas Enterprise Fund grant, and the company has also been offered a US$1,000 veteran job creation bonus.
“Exceptional global companies, like CertainTeed, are investing in Texas because we offer unmatched advantages for operating businesses, including a world-class business climate, highly skilled workforce, reasonable regulations and lower taxes,” said Governor Abbott.
CertainTeed Vice President and General Manager Carmen Bodden said the new facility symbolizes the company’s commitment to its customers in the southern United States, to the state of Texas and to the city of Bryan.
“Just as your company works to ensure that buildings are composed of the highest quality products, the City of Bryan is committed to bringing high-quality jobs to our region, and CertainTeed offers just that,” said Bryan Mayor Bobby Gutierrez.
Brazos Valley Economic Development Corporation President Seth McKinney noted that from the center of the Texas Triangle megaregion, CertainTeed will reach millions of Texans and Americans with its quality products.
