ARTEAGA, COAH – Phillips Industries inaugurated the expansion of its facilities in the municipality of Arteaga, Coahuila, a project that required an investment of US$35 million.
The U.S. company focuses on the production of harnesses for tractor-trailers and trailers, where the inauguration of Plant II will generate more than 1,600 formal jobs.
At the inauguration ceremony, Governor Miguel Ángel Riquelme Solís highlighted Coahuila’s competitiveness, especially the skilled labor force of women and men.
“Today Coahuila remains at the forefront, therefore my thanks, but above all my commitment to continue promoting what it requires in terms of competitiveness, and especially in the skilled labor that we must continue to produce according to the world and global trend,” said the governor.
The Chairman of the Board of Phillips, Bob Phillips, recalled the beginnings of the company and what its slogan states: “Let’s do things better” and “We make products that make a difference”, and thanked the authorities and all the company’s collaborators for continuing to grow.
Robert Phillips, chief executive of the company, highlighted the alliance with the State Government and the Municipality of Arteaga to achieve an expansion to 140 thousand square meters, and what follows with the manufacture of all types of sensors and telematic accesses.
In his speech, Filiberto Coello, OEM president of Phillips in Mexico, stated that with the new expansion, 500 thousand square feet will be reached, which will generate 1,600 jobs by the end of 2023, as well as the support provided by the State Government, labor stability and security.
