EL PASO, TX – In order to bring business opportunities closer together, the City of El Paso Purchasing and Strategic Sourcing Department held the 10th Annual Cooperative Purchasing Expo at the Judson F. Williams Convention Center.
The Purchasing Expo is the largest business networking opportunity in the Southwest State of Texas. The event included a variety of informative sessions to benefit small businesses and learn how to utilize cooperative contracts.
In addition, attendees had the opportunity to visit exhibitor booths and network throughout the day.
This year’s keynote speaker, Jamie Cochran, Chief Operating Officer of Echelon Front, spoke about leadership at all levels. She gave tips and tools on how to improve your skills in business.
The City Council noted that the event was an opportunity for local businesses to grow by learning how to participate in cooperative contracts used by government agencies across the country.
Cooperative agreements offer suppliers the opportunity to sell their goods and services in large quantities across the country. Resource partners provided information on bonding, financing, state and federal certifications, and much more on how to do business with government agencies.
There was also insight into how cooperative contracts are used by government entities, how they can help businesses grow, and an opportunity to network through business-2-business and business-2-agency.
