COHAUILA – The U.S. company Park Ohio inaugurated its Plant 4 in Coahuila, with an investment of 41.5 million dollars and with which it intends to add 1,095 new jobs to the city of Acuña and the northern region of the state.
Together with the mayor of Acuña, Emilio De Hoyos and Park Ohio executives, the governor of Coahuila, Miguel Riquelme Solís, highlighted the company’s decision to invest in the border region and make it more competitive, mainly in the automotive sector.
Park Ohio is a company dedicated to the manufacture of rubber and plastic auto parts that are installed in automobiles. The company handles industrial supply chain logistics and diversified manufacturing that operates in three segments: Supply Technologies, Assembly Components and Engineered Products.
The subsidiaries that make up the business group manage approximately 125 manufacturing, distribution and service facilities and employ around 7,000 people worldwide. Its revenues exceed 1.6 billion dollars, according to the company’s official website.
“It gives me great pleasure to be on this border for the start of operations of this great allied company of Coahuila, my recognition to the workers who are the most important factor for the company to continue growing in Acuña and in the region. I thank the directors and I want to recognize that ratifying the confidence to expand its operations in this region is a great satisfaction for this state,” commented Riquelme.
The governor highlighted that with the announcement of Park Ohio, 23 expansions or arrivals of companies have been completed in Coahuila in the last six years, three of which have been in the city of Acuña.
“Park Ohio is part of the growth of the border and the consolidation of the automotive cluster that today places us as leaders in the production of transportation equipment and the export of auto parts,” said the governor.
