TEXAS – With an investment of US$520 million, Omni Hotel & Resorts opened its new PGA Frisco Resort in Texas, which is expected to create a thousand jobs and will serve as a destination for golf fans.
Governor Greg Abbott celebrated Texas’ continued growth as a tourism destination and highlighted the efforts made by the state to maintain positive economic development.
“Texas is already a top destination for tourists and golfers, but with more than two dozen tournaments already scheduled for this incredible resort, it will further encourage growth and investment in the Frisco area,” said Governor Abbott.
Omni Hotels & Resorts, noted that the new resort sprawls across 660 acres in the thriving city of Frisco, offering expansive experiences for guests of all ages, all with the lush fairways of Fields Ranch.
Heralded as the new home of modern golf, the resort features two championship courses designed by acclaimed architects Gil Hanse and Beau Welling. Visitors of all levels will be able to enjoy even more ways to play, including a 10-hole lighted short course and two-acre putting course, the Lounge by Topgolf dining and simulation experience, the state-of-the-art PGA Training Center, the Ice House restaurant with hitting bays overlooking the Toptracer driving range and much more.
According to the hotel company, the resort’s luxurious accommodations and wide variety of amenities are what will make it the most anticipated destination in the region. The hotel features a total of 500 rooms and suites; 13 restaurants and bars of different concepts; a world-class Mokara Spa; four crystal-clear pools; shopping, entertainment and nearly 130,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor event space, along with 10 exclusive four-bedroom cottages.

Among the resort’s unique accommodations are ten exclusive luxury residences, the Ranch Houses, nestled among the greens with panoramic views of Fields Ranch and beyond. Each four-bedroom retreat offers fully customizable VIP amenities for families, golf buddy trips, bachelorette parties and other groups seeking more personalized offerings away from the hustle and bustle of the main resort.
The interiors, by award-winning design studio Jeffrey Beers International, tell a sophisticated design story inspired by Omni’s Texas heritage, while infusing subtle nods to golf.
Governor Abbott was joined at the ribbon-cutting ceremony by Frisco Mayor Cheney, Omni Hotels & Resorts President Kurt Alexander, Omni PGA Frisco Resort Vice President and General Manager Jeff Smith, TRT Holdings owner Bob Rowling and TRT Holdings President Blake Rowling.
The resort is scheduled to host the KitchenAid Senior PGA Championship May 24-28, 2023, as well as 26 other planned championships in Frisco, including two PGA Championships and the KPMG Women’s PGA Championship, through 2034.
