MONTERREY, NL – With an investment of US$150 million, the expansion of the Kuka Home Mexico plant at the Interpuerto Monterrey, in the municipality of Salinas Victoria, will generate 1,000 jobs.
Accompanied by the Secretary of Economy, Iván Rivas; and the Undersecretary of Investment, Emmanuel Loo, the Governor of Nuevo León, Samuel García Sepúlveda inaugurated the plant of the Asian company dedicated to the production of high-end furniture for the home.
“Kuka came to Nuevo Leon, liked the environment, saw that there was business and did not hesitate to expand and in two years came to Interpuerto and today we witnessed that tour, four warehouses and a thousand Neolonians working, and above all, and I am very pleased, many women and many young people because Nuevo Leon is a state of great labor inclusion, we have full employment and we have jobs for everyone,” he said.
The Governor assured that there is no other metropolitan area in the world that offers the business potential that the Monterrey metropolitan area has.
“Cultural environment, skilled labor, professionals, universities, business environment and the largest companies in Latin America in one place.
For his part, the state Secretary of Economy. Iván Rivas said that the projects announced by the Government of Nuevo León are becoming a reality.
“This announcement we made in 2022 in less than 20 months became an idea in more than a thousand jobs, a thousand jobs right now to reach more than 2,500 by the end of the year, and they say they are going to bring up to 5,000 jobs,” he said.
Rivas said that during 2024 there are projects of more than 100 companies that are interested in investing around 10 billion dollars in Nuevo Leon, “so we expect a great year as previous years have been,” he said.
The Secretary of Economy explained that these are companies from the automotive, electromobility and information technology sectors, from the United States, China and the rest of the world.
The event was attended by Raúl Cantú de la Garza, Municipal President of Salinas Victoria; Daniel Zhao, General Director of KUKA Home Mexico; Fang Mengfei, General Director of Colchón; and executives from KUKA HOME USA.
