CHIHUAHUA – The Ministry of Innovation and Economic Development (SIDE), through the Institute for Innovation and Competitiveness (I2C), awarded 15 scholarships to Chihuahua students studying at the University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP).
With an investment of more than 1 million 119 thousand pesos, the scholarships seek to promote the development of talent and work skills of young people in STEM areas (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics), with special emphasis on semiconductors, aerospace and electromobility.
The Secretary of Innovation and Economic Development, Ulises Fernandez, mentioned that these scholarships are an example of the shared vision between UTEP and the State Government to invest in the future of the region.
“The scholarships will not only ease the financial burden on students, but will also contribute to the development of a highly skilled workforce on both sides of the border,” Fernandez said.

This support will allow students from Juarense studying at UTEP to cover part of their tuition and strengthen their academic and professional skills, positively impacting the growth of the region.
