NEW MEXICO – The Scale Up New Mexico program, supported by the U.S. Economic Development Administration and based at New Mexico State University’s Arrowhead Center, reported that it is ready to offer its online Pitch Deck Sprint accelerator for technology startups located in the region.
The Pitch Deck Sprint is designed specifically for New Mexico entrepreneurs and startups looking to improve their pitches. The program will be held every Thursday from April 18 through May 23. To secure a spot, interested parties must apply to the accelerator at no cost by April 12. Those selected will be informed of their acceptance by April 13.
Pitch Deck Sprint is a key component of Scale Up New Mexico, a comprehensive collection of programs aimed at fostering the development of early-stage startups. The initiative aims to enhance the fundraising efforts of startups by providing them with strategic assistance in refining their pitch decks and advising them on their presentation.
“The Pitch Deck Sprint program stands as a critical resource for New Mexico entrepreneurs, offering vital support that is critical to refining their pitches,” said Dana Catron, deputy director of the Arrowhead Center.
Carton said the initiative not only equips them with the tools to effectively communicate their vision, but also significantly increases their potential for success in securing funding.
Throughout the six-week program, participants will take part in dynamic sessions designed to provide them with an in-depth understanding of the theoretical and practical aspects of creating a pitch deck.
The program includes interactive workshops, hands-on activities and the opportunity to receive immediate feedback, allowing participants to effectively develop, evaluate and refine their presentations. It will include a mix of lectures, discussions, working groups, one-on-one mentoring and networking events. The sprint culminates with a live presentation to active regional investors.
This hands-on approach, enriched with one-on-one mentoring and direct investor involvement, is designed to prepare startups for successful fundraising efforts, setting a new standard for entrepreneurial support in our community.
To participate in the Pitch Deck Sprint, startups must be based in New Mexico or have plans to relocate to the state. Participants are expected to attend a weekly two-hour virtual session for the duration of the cohort and actively engage in technology-based innovation.
