BAJA CALIFORNIA – During the webinar “Innovative Instruments to Finance City Action” organized by the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), the Secretary of Finance of Baja California, Marco Antonio Moreno Mexía presented some of the tools used by the entity to attract investments.
Moreno gave a presentation on “Innovative Financial Instruments in Baja California, Mexico”. During his presentation, he offered national and international specialists the experience of Baja California in the creation and implementation of innovative financial instruments at a subnational level to attract investments in green infrastructure.
In this sense, he explained that the Green Bond financed with the North American Development Bank (NADBank) consists of three billion pesos that will serve to strengthen the water infrastructure in the state, which represents a better supply for the communities, as well as positively impact the environment through the reinforcement of the Baja California water sanitation network.
The specialists present highlighted Moreno Mexía’s professional career, especially as a designer, structurer and negotiator of investment and financing projects in Mexico and abroad, having extensive knowledge of debt issues, structured credits, functions and acquisitions, public-private investment projects, among others.
The presentation of the official from Baja California was given in the context of the webinar series “Latin American and Caribbean Cities after COP28 as Drivers of Climate Action”.
