COAHUILA – Yokohama began construction of its first plant in Coahuila, with which it intends to invest US$413 million in the industrial zone of Derramadero, where more than a thousand jobs will be generated.
The Governor of Coahuila, Manolo Jiménez Salinas, said that the state is attractive to domestic and foreign investors because of its security, skilled labor, strategic geographic location and the education of its workers.
He recalled that last October, he was at the headquarters of Yokohama, in Japan, where he met and secured the investment for Coahuila.
The company, of Japanese capital, will start the production of tires for all types of vehicles, starting in the first two months of 2025. It will be built on an area of more than 60,000 square meters.
Yokohama currently has 35 plants in Asia, Europe and America. In their opportunity, executives of the Japanese company, such as Masataka Yamaishi, Nitin Mantri, Anil Gupta and Shinichiro Takimoto, agreed that the government fully supported their installation in this entity.
This is the 15th investment consolidated by the administration of Manolo Jimenez in the first four and a half months of his administration.
