EL PASO, TX – From April 28 to May 4, the City of El Paso held National Small Business Week, supporting local companies.
Held since 1963 as an initiative of the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA), National Small Business Week recognizes the valuable contributions small business owners make to the national economy.
The annual celebration highlights the important contributions small businesses make to the local economy and showcases the support and resources available through the City’s Economic Development Department and its partners.
“Our commitment to local small businesses is an integral part of our broader economic strategy,” said Karina Brasgalla, interim director of the City of El Paso’s Economic and International Development Department. “We understand that small businesses are the backbone of our economy. That’s why we provide targeted support and resources to help them thrive.”
The City has established Business One Stop Shop (BOSS), whose primary objective is to address the resource gap between entrepreneurs and business owners, with the goal of helping them retain and grow their businesses throughout the binational border region using viable, locally driven strategies.
BOSS has built a core economic ecosystem and has partnered with 22 business support organizations.
