CHIHUAHUA – The Municipal Government of Chihuahua, in coordination with the State Government and Red Emprende, announced the second edition of the Startup World Cup in Chihuahua, an event that seeks to promote innovation and entrepreneurship in the capital city and throughout the country, which will be held on August 28 and 29, 2024.
The call is open to all Mexican entrepreneurs with startups operating in the country; as this event will include workshops on inspirational topics, finance, English for entrepreneurs and pitching on the first day, while the second day will focus on the pitch competition with the 10 best projects from all over Mexico, evaluated by expert judges in business.
Pitches must be presented in English and projects from any industry can participate, as long as they are high impact and non-traditional. The deadline for uploading projects is June 30, 2024, and close to 100 startups from all over the country are expected to register.
The first edition of the Startup World Cup in Chihuahua, had a participation of more than 60 startups, and more than 250 attendees to the conferences during the first day, the event demonstrated the talent and innovation present in our community.
One of the highlights of the first edition was the triumph of Ricardo Valles of Savefruit, who won first place in the Americas and second place worldwide in the final of the Startup World Cup.
Those in charge of announcing the call were Ricardo Bustos, president of Red Emprende; Mauricio Milán, director of Ilum Prosperity Sherpas; Jesús García López, undersecretary of Innovation and Economic Development (SIDE), as well as the head of Incubation and Entrepreneurship of Economic Development and Competitiveness of the Municipality of Chihuahua, Jorge Carrasco, who highlighted the importance of innovation as an engine of development and prosperity for Chihuahua and invited all Chihuahua Startups to participate.
