CHIHUAHUA – In a joint effort to analyze and promote strategies to increase transparency in Chihuahua City businesses, the Municipal Government met with USAID Mexico and Transparencia Mexicana Karewa to improve the processes of its Internal Control Organ (OIC).
The Chihuahua City Council informed that the OIC is committed to support the implementation of transparency and ethics standards in the local business sector, in a joint effort to promote fair competition and prevent corrupt practices.
It is worth mentioning that USAID Mexico is a U.S. government agency dedicated to providing international assistance and support to promote economic, social and political development in different countries around the world.
Among its initiatives is the ProIntegrity Project, through which USAID seeks to improve transparency, accountability and integrity in Mexico, thus contributing to a more ethical and fair environment in public administration and business.
In this regard, Eduardo Bohórquez, director of Transparencia Mexicana, gave a lecture on “Business Integrity in Mexico”, an intervention focused on strengthening the capacities of the public and private sectors to fight corruption and promote ethics in business.
