CHIHUAHUA – The city of Chihuahua hosts Expo Agro Internacional, which seeks to promote the integration of agrifood production chains.
This year, the event, which takes place from August 1 to 2 at the Chihuahua Convention and Exhibition Center, held the Chile and Onion Forum, which seeks to transfer knowledge through specialized conferences that help producers improve their technical and safe practices in food production.
Congressman Saúl Mireles, president of the Rural Development and Livestock Commission of the State Congress, highlighted Chihuahua’s relevance in agricultural innovation.
The Expo brings together leaders and experts to promote agricultural development at the regional and national levels. It also offers a fundamental platform for the exchange of knowledge and the development of sustainable solutions in the agricultural sector and addresses topics such as holistic sustainability for the state, innovative strategies in the use of fertilizers and pest control, as well as the importance of key crops such as cotton, yellow corn, alfalfa, pecan nuts, onions and green chili.
The kick-off event was attended by the director of the Faculty of Agrotechnical Sciences (FACIATEC), Aarón González; the president of the Central Water and Sanitation Board (JCAS), Mario Mata; the general coordinator of Expo Agro Internacional, Manuel Baeza; the secretary of Tourism, Edibray Gómez; the general director of the Bank of Mexico’s Institutional Trust Fund for Agriculture (FIRA), among others.
