TAMAULIPAS – In order to analyzing and formulating actions in a coordinated manner, the Secretary of Water Resources for Social Development in Tamaulipas, Raúl Quiroga Álvarez, held a meeting with the representative of the National Development Bank of North America (NADBank), Fernando Barrera Alonso, the legal representative and general director of ALITEC, Francisco Ramón Tapia Mansilla, and the managers of the different water utilities located within the 300-kilometer strip of the state’s border.
The committee was held with the purpose of continuing to strengthen the operating agencies of the border region of Tamaulipas to provide a more efficient service to the inhabitants, as well as to analyze actions to improve water supply services.
During the meeting, the managers of the COMAPAs presented the projects of their priority works and the budget necessary to carry them out in order to be eligible for credit.
For this reason, Fernando Barrera Alonso reaffirmed NADBank’s commitment to continue working hand in hand with the State Government and operating agencies to provide resources according to the priorities of the works, in addition to exploring innovative project schemes that are self-financing.
For his part, the Secretary of Water Resources assured that the reason for the modification to the Water Law of Tamaulipas to adhere the water operating agencies to the state administration is to comply with the management indicators, which he assured will be the same for all.
“The idea is that, among all of us, we can comply with the management indicators (…) support each other in such a way that we can give the best possible face to our operating agencies,” said Quiroga.
Finally, he mentioned that there will be no interference in any way within the agencies, assuring that it is a decision taken for the benefit of the operating agencies themselves, since the aspiration is to modify what does not work together to be able to move more efficiently and having the citizenship as the center of attention.
