CHIHUAHUA – Students from the Universidad Autónoma de Chihuahua won first place in the first edition of the Innovation Challenge, organized by Ford.
Students from the School of Engineering, Medicine and Biomedical Sciences won first place in the competition held in the city of Chihuahua.
During their participation, the students presented and evaluated the project “Increase the FTT (First Time Through) in the A0380 operation of the I4 plant by 40% of the current total in a period of two months”, developed by Leslie Darién Antillon Zapata, Jorge Ricardo Quintana Tintori and Saúl Isaac Ramírez Villescas from the Process Technology Engineering career; Karely Álvarez Cruz from Bio-medical Engineering, Eduardo Andrés Blanco Maese and Jonathan Rosas López from Aerospace Engineering, accompanied by their advisor, Eng. Jorge Alberto Arias Mendoza.
The four finalist projects demonstrated a high level of creativity and technical skills, but it was one of the UACH teams that took first place in this first edition of the Innovation Challenge.
This competition stood out for its focus on innovation and the practical application of technical knowledge in an industrial environment, which was applied to real production processes within the plant.
For their part, representatives of the company organizing this competition thanked the universities for their participation and expressed their enthusiasm for collaboration in future editions of this challenge, highlighting the value of the link between industry and educational institutions to promote local talent.
