Kurtz Ersa inaugurates new plant in Juarez

JUAREZ, CHIH – Kurtz Ersa Mexico held the official inauguration of its new plant, located in Ciudad Juarez, being the company’s first factory in Latin America.

Following the groundbreaking ceremony on July 11, 2023, it took Kurtz Ersa Mexico only nine months to move into its production plant in Ciudad Juarez.

On April 12, the company held a pre-inauguration of the 4,500-square-meter building with production space, offices and demonstration center.

This Tuesday, September 17, the company held the official inauguration of the factory, noting that the move was carried out step by step and production of the first Ersa reflow systems had begun in May. The building offers sufficient production capacity to manufacture several hundred machines.

“It has been impressive to see how much space this new hall offers us for further growth. We are pioneers in the North American market for nearshoring soldering machines, and our customers are already looking forward to receiving Ersa’s proven quality and technology locally. We have created one of the most modern manufacturing facilities in Mexico and are convinced that this step will be a great success for us,” said Albrecht Beck, President and COO of Kurtz Ersa, Inc. (KEI), responsible for the Americas business within the Kurtz Ersa Group.

The mayor of Ciudad Juarez, Cruz Perez Cuellar announced that with the arrival of the company, in addition to new investment and jobs could represent the attraction of more companies.

“We are very happy we have welcomed them it seems that one more is coming that are suppliers of them, it is what happens when a company as important as this one arrives it generates that more companies come and that is something good for our city especially because they are better paid jobs,” said the mayor.

The opening of the new production plant in Ciudad Juarez will further expand capacities in Mexico. In addition to the existing service and logistics centers in Plymouth (Wisconsin, USA) and Guadalajara (Mexico).

According to the company, Juarez is the third major service and logistics center to be established. The expansion has also resulted in a transfer of know-how from Europe to Mexico, so that it is planned to ensure even more competent support for Kurtz Ersa’s customers in the region.

The new production plant in Ciudad Juarez will play a central role in the production of Ersa welding machines, and the new Mexican branch will also act as a pre-production plant for the Kurtz plant in the USA.

Initially, the plant will focus on the production of Ersa HOTFLOW reflow soldering systems.

“In view of the rapid growth in North and South America, the new production plant in Chihuahua will better serve local customers, minimize the carbon footprint, shorten lead times and reduce transportation costs,” explained KEI President Albrecht Beck.
