NUEVO LAREDO, TAMPS – Medline Mexico became the first maquiladora in Nuevo Laredo, Tamaulipas, to establish an agreement with INMUJER, which will allow women workers to obtain legal and psychological counseling in a service module.
Present at the signing of the agreement were Carlos Beltran, Human Resources Manager; Jaime Aguilar, Medline’s Vice President of Manufacturing in Mexico; as well as Cynthia Rodriguez Leija, Director of Inmujer; Linda Gonzalez, Special Events Coordinator; and Areli Cortez Salinas, Training and Liaison Coordinator of the institute.
This agreement seeks to generate equality and empowerment for women, providing a safe and confidential space where they can receive the necessary support to face situations of stress, anxiety and any type of violence or discrimination.
The collaboration will not only benefit the women who use these services, but will also have a positive impact on the entire community, fostering a culture of respect, support and equity.
In addition, it is hoped that this initiative will inspire other companies in the region to take similar steps, thus promoting a more inclusive and supportive work environment.
According to the Nuevo Laredo government, future activities and programs are planned to reinforce the objectives of the agreement, including personal development workshops, professional training courses, and campaigns to raise awareness of women’s rights.
