ARIZONA – Sunlit Fluo & Chemical Co. Ltd., Taiwan’s leading supplier of semiconductor chemicals, expanded its international presence with the opening of its first manufacturing plant outside Asia, to be located in Arizona.
The new plant, located in Phoenix, Arizona, will supply critical materials to the U.S. semiconductor industry, reinforcing Sunlit’s role as a key player in the global supply chain.
Sunlit held the official groundbreaking alongside Arizona Governor Katie Hobbs; Sunlit Group President Bryan Lin; Phoenix Mayor Kate Gallego; Sandra Watson, president and CEO of the Arizona Commerce Authority; and Chris Camacho, president and CEO of the Greater Phoenix Economic Council.
The company made a $100 million investment for the 900,000-square-foot, 27-acre, vertically integrated manufacturing facility to optimize the production of high-purity hydrofluoric acid and other chemicals essential to semiconductor manufacturing.
Sunlit Arizona will be a critical partner to the state’s more than 200 semiconductor-related companies that support the state’s thriving advanced manufacturing sector.
“Arizona’s semiconductor industry is booming, and Sunlit’s new manufacturing facility is the latest example of that. Sunlit Arizona will create good-paying jobs and strengthen our manufacturing ecosystem,” said Governor Katie Hobbs.
“The opening of Sunlit Arizona is a major step forward in our company’s journey of growth and innovation. This facility will help semiconductor producers in Arizona and across the U.S. meet their production goals while advancing technologies critical to the future of this industry,” said Bryan Lin, President of Sunlit Group.
Arizona has become a national leader in semiconductor manufacturing, attracting more than 40 companies affiliated with that industry since 2020. These companies have contributed more than $100 billion in investment and created more than 16,000 jobs in the state.
The first phase of the plant is expected to create more than 50 local jobs by early 2025, with plans to reach 100 employees as production expands and further phases of investment are deployed.
Sunlit’s U.S. expansion underscores Taiwan’s crucial role in the global semiconductor supply chain, while strengthening ties with the U.S.
