TAMAULIPAS – The Secretary of Economy of Tamaulipas, Ninfa Cantú Deándar, participated in the Business Mission of Brazil and Colombia to the Region of Los Dos Laredos, to present the competitive advantages of the state for the attraction of investments, business development and foreign trade services.
The mission, which counted with the participation of Brazilian and Colombian businessmen, had as its main objective to strengthen commercial ties between these nations and Tamaulipas, as well as to establish strategic agreements for future business missions scheduled for January and March 2025.
Cantú Deándar underscored the importance of this initiative, highlighting that Brazil and Colombia are not only sister nations of Mexico, but also strategic partners with whom they share common values and objectives such as development, strengthening trade and building a future of shared prosperity.
“Los Dos Laredos represent a region of logistical and commercial excellence. Nuevo Laredo is not only the most important customs office in Latin America, but also a strategic pillar for North American trade and a global reference,” said Secretary Cantú Deándar.
In her speech, Cantú also pointed out that in the context of nearshoring, Tamaulipas is an ideal place for companies from Brazil and Colombia due to its geographic location, its infrastructure and the industrial vocation of its human capital.
The international delegation was made up of representatives of the Confederation of Commercial and Business Associations of Brazil (CACB), the municipality of Mogi das Cruzes, RAD/DF business expansion firms (Colombia) and ANH (Brazil).
The Dos Laredos region was attended by key companies and institutions, including industrial parks, shelter services, merchandise distribution centers, logistics and transportation companies, customs agencies such as Cargoquin, financial institutions such as Intercam and IBC, and the municipal governments on both sides of the border.
In addition, economic development agencies such as the Laredo Development Corporation and the Nuevo Laredo Secretariat for Economic Development joined the event, consolidating a comprehensive representation of the region’s capabilities.
