NUEVO LAREDO – In order to reduce waiting times, optimize inspection processes and safe crossing for travelers, authorities of the Government of Nuevo Laredo and the US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) held a strategic meeting to implement joint measures to expedite the entry of vacationers and paisanos during the holiday season.
The mayor of Nuevo Laredo, Carmen Lilia Canturosas, highlighted the importance of binational collaboration to offer a fast, safe and efficient crossing for the thousands of travelers that pass through the border.
“This joint effort between U.S. and Mexican authorities aims to ensure that the crossing is as smooth as possible, contributing to a better experience for those traveling, especially at this time of year,” Canturosas Villarreal said.
The authorities agreed that in order to reduce vehicle waiting times, three additional lanes will be opened on the international bridges.
Another of the points discussed was to improve the service provided to the paisanos, in this sense, measures will be implemented to guarantee a respectful and efficient crossing, with special attention to the paisanos, avoiding long lines and unnecessary delays.
In the area of security and prevention, coordinated operations will be established between the authorities on both sides of the border to reinforce security and ensure constant communication that allows for a rapid response to any eventuality.
In addition, the population was called upon to plan their crossing in advance, keep informed about waiting times and follow the recommendations of the authorities to ensure a smooth and safe experience during their trip.
