TAMAULIPAS – The Expo Tampico Convention and Exhibition Center hosted the first Forum for Consultation with Society: “Energy and Sustainable Development” as part of the process of shaping the National Development Plan 2025-2030.
The event was attended by more than 600 key stakeholders, positioning Tamaulipas as a fundamental state in the construction of this plan, led by Mexico’s President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo.
The Secretary of Energy Development of Tamaulipas, José Ramón Silva Arizabalo, highlighted the relevance of the forum as a space to attend and listen to civil society, generating ideas that would be integrated into the National Development Plan.
“This forum attended and listened to civil society, to the representatives of this sector, with the objective of generating valuable conclusions for the National Development Plan,” said Silva.
During the protocol ceremony, Governor Américo Villarreal and the Secretary of Energy, Luz Elena González Escobar, welcomed the participants and inaugurated the activities of the six working tables, focused on essential topics for the country’s energy development.
The working groups addressed various topics: sustainable energy planning, energy justice, energy transition, hydrocarbons and petrochemicals, development of the national electricity sector, and the general axes of the National Development Plan.
This forum represented an important step in the construction of a plan that seeks to integrate the perspectives of multiple sectors to promote sustainable development and strengthen the national energy sector in the coming years.
