JUAREZ, CHIH – With a vision focused on regional economic development, Balaji JMC Paper Mill, a company of Indian origin, inaugurated its first plant in Mexico, strategically located in the San Jeronimo Industrial Park in Ciudad Juarez.
This project represents not only an important initial investment, but also a solid commitment to Chihuahua’s economic potential and its position as a key point for global industry.
The plant will generate more than 1,200 direct and indirect jobs in its first phase, with expansion plans that include an additional investment of between US$400 million and US$500 million over the next five years. This will create 1,000 more direct jobs, indirectly benefiting more than 5,000 families in the region.
Óscar Ibáñez, representing Chihuahua Governor Maru Campos, emphasized that the investment reflects the confidence of international companies in the state as a strategic center for economic growth.
“Chihuahua is a leader in attracting investment, and projects like this consolidate our commitment to progress and job creation,” Ibanez emphasized.
Rajni Patel, president of Balaji JMC Paper Mill, expressed his gratitude for the support and hospitality of the Juarense community, assuring that the company is committed to fostering innovation and sustainability in the region.
“Our goal is to build a legacy that benefits both our company and the families of Ciudad Juarez,” Patel stated.
The inauguration was also attended by India’s ambassador to Mexico, Pankaj Sharma, who highlighted this milestone as a significant advancement in the economic relationship between the two countries.
“The opening of this plant consolidates the confidence of Indian companies in the Mexican market and strengthens our cooperation ties,” said Sharma.
The ceremony was attended by important figures, including Yesha Patel, CEO of Balaji JMC Paper Mill; the mayor of Ciudad Juarez, Cruz Perez Cuellar; Miguel Samaniego Gamez, director of Industry of the State Government; Oscar Lesser, former mayor of El Paso, Texas; and Jerry Pacheco, president of the Border Industry Association. With this new plant, Ciudad Juarez continues to position itself as a central hub for global investment and sustainable development.
