JUAREZ – With the objective of boosting investment and economic development in Ciudad Juarez, the head of the Ministry of Innovation and Economic Development (SIDE) of Chihuahua, Ulises Fernandez, held a key meeting with key members of the private initiative and the Ministry of Economy of the Federal Government.
During the meeting, strategic issues such as the relocation decree recently presented by President Claudia Sheinbaum, Plan Mexico and its economic development objectives, and possible work to strengthen foreign investment in the region were discussed.
The need for support from the Federation in aspects such as the streamlining of procedures, the allocation of incentives to strengthen investment in Mexico, particularly in Chihuahua and Ciudad Juarez, was also analyzed.
The session underscored the need to generate incentives for the development of local suppliers and to promote the growth of micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) in order to integrate them into global value chains.
The importance of attracting investment in sectors that promote more complex and value-added processes, especially in design, engineering and innovation, was also highlighted.
The Government of Chihuahua reiterated its commitment to work in coordination with the business sector and authorities at different levels to improve the region’s competitiveness, generate new investment opportunities and ensure sustainable economic growth.
