Index Juarez, through its Health, Safety and Environment Committee, organized an informative talk on the Mexican Official Standard NOM-002-STPS-2010, related to fire prevention and protection in the workplace. The event took place in the Federico Barrio Terrazas Auditorium.
The conference was given by Luis C. Salmerón Guerrero, director of the firm Ideas Verdes Asesores SC, who explained the main guidelines of the standard and offered a practical guide for its implementation. He also addressed the procedures necessary to obtain the compliance report, required within the internal civil protection programs.
During the session, the relevance of having an implementation plan and accreditation before a verification unit was highlighted, as well as the design of contingency plans as key tools for emergency preparedness.
The activity brought together professionals in the areas of environment, health and safety (EHS), as well as representatives of various local companies, with the aim of strengthening the culture of prevention and regulatory compliance in the workplace.
