The “Window to Mexico” festival marked this weekend’s kick-off of the alternate activities for the Tianguis Turístico México 2025. The event took place at Liberty Station, San Diego, and was attended by authorities such as the governor of Baja California, Marina del Pilar Avila Olmeda, and the federal Secretary of Tourism, Josefina Rodriguez Zamora.
Baja California will host the Tianguis Turístico for the first time in its history, becoming also the first state in the northern border to host this international event. As part of this edition, for the first time the event acquires a binational character by extending its activities to the United States.
During the inauguration of “Window to Mexico,” the governor highlighted the cultural and economic ties between Baja California and California, noting that both territories share roots and a common future.
The Mexico 2025 Tourism Tianguis will take place from April 28th to May 1st at the Baja California Center. The event will bring together representatives of the tourism industry from all over the country, with the aim of boosting the promotion of destinations, fostering economic spillover and strengthening the generation of jobs in the sector.
In addition to the activities aimed at tourism professionals, this edition will include events open to the general public. These include the “El Gran Taco Mexicano” festival, scheduled for May 1 and 2 at the Tijuana Cultural Center, and a free concert by the Baja California Orchestra and the Nortec collective, scheduled for May 3 on Avenida Revolucion.
On May 1, visitors will also be able to access the Tianguis site to learn about the tourism offerings of the different participating states through information modules set up at the event.
