During the Forbes Economy and Business Forum held in Juarez, Mayor Cruz Pérez Cuellar called on business leaders and representatives of the private sector to join forces to attract investment to the city and promote its positive aspects.
The mayor pointed out that forums such as this one can serve as a starting point for promoting an optimistic vision of the city’s future, and he stressed the importance of taking advantage of specialized media outlets to highlight the region’s productive and investment strengths.
“We want these types of events to serve to showcase the good things about Juarez at a time that, although complex, also represents an opportunity,” he said.
The forum, organized by Forbes magazine, was attended by its editor-in-chief, José Roberto Arteaga, who highlighted the historical role of Ciudad Juarez in economic and trade issues, particularly its relationship with treaties such as NAFTA and USMCA.
“The economy is going through a period of slowdown, which requires new strategies. Juarez will undoubtedly reappear in the pages of Forbes as a benchmark in manufacturing,” said Pérez Cuellar.
The event began with a presentation on “Economic Development in the Binational Region” by Roberto Mora Palacios, director of the Municipal Institute for Research and Planning (IMIP), who discussed the economic evolution of the region, from its agricultural origins to its transformation with the arrival of commerce and industry.
The forum is being held at the Cibeles Convention Center, with the attendance of businesspeople, members of business chambers, and participants linked to various economic activities.
