UACH Strengthens Lean Six Sigma Training Through New Academic Partnership

The Faculty of Engineering at the Autonomous University of Chihuahua (UACH) has signed a new collaboration agreement with Personal Academy to significantly expand its Lean Six Sigma training programs for both students and faculty. This partnership is designed to bolster expertise in process improvement methodologies, a skillset increasingly demanded by the manufacturing, logistics, and service sectors.

The agreement builds upon a successful partnership that began in 2018. To date, these joint certification programs have benefited 329 students and nine faculty members. The results show that 252 students earned Yellow Belt certification, 32 achieved Lean Green Belt certification, and 45 completed Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification. Among the faculty, eight professors earned Green Belt certification and one obtained the prestigious Black Belt certification.

A spokesperson for the Faculty of Engineering emphasized that the on-site training provides practical, hands-on experience that directly complements the theoretical engineering curriculum. The program’s objective is to equip participants with applicable tools for process optimization, data analysis, and operational problem-solving—competencies highly sought after by employers at both local and national levels.

Personal Academy, a specialized online education platform founded in 2017, contributes certified instructors and programs accredited by the Mexican Ministry of Labor and Social Welfare (STPS) and the Council for Six Sigma Certification. Their flexible course model allows participants to learn at their own pace through content that integrates Lean principles, applied statistics, and continuous improvement methodologies.

With this renewed agreement, the UACH Faculty of Engineering aims to increase the number of students and faculty earning formal Lean Six Sigma certifications, thereby enhancing their readiness for the professional world. The collaboration is set to continue growing in the coming months with new cohorts and specialized assessments.
