The Universidad Tecnológica de Chihuahua inaugurated a new laboratory focused on robotics and Industry 4.0 technologies to strengthen practical training for engineering students.
The facility includes three types of industrial robots—SCARA, collaborative, and Cartesian systems—allowing students to simulate automated production processes and learn programming used in modern manufacturing environments.
In addition to robotics equipment, the lab features specialized computers for design and modeling, 3D printers for prototype development, electronic measurement systems, didactic motor modules, and augmented reality headsets to support immersive technical training.
The project involved an investment of about 2 million pesos and is expected to benefit more than 800 students, particularly those studying mechatronics and renewable energy.
University officials highlighted that the new laboratory will help prepare students for the demands of advanced manufacturing and strengthen the development of technical talent needed by the region’s growing industrial sector.
