Scania Mexico announced the opening of a new large-scale branch covering more than 30,000 square meters in the municipality of Garcia, Nuevo Leon—a strategic project located along the Periferico and Lincoln corridor.
During his tour of Sweden, Samuel Garcia, governor of Nuevo Leon, met with Christian Levin, president and CEO of the Traton Group, the consortium that owns Scania and International.
With this project, the company will create 50 direct jobs and a similar number of indirect jobs. Alejandro Mondragon, CEO of Scania Mexico, explained that this facility aims to strengthen its freight and passenger transport solutions, building on its more than 30-year presence in the country.
The Swedish consortium brings together global brands such as Scania, MAN Truck & Bus, International Motors, and Volkswagen Truck & Bus.
Currently, the group’s assembly plant in Escobedo, Nuevo Leon, is considered Navistar’s largest in the world, operating with a workforce of 6,200 direct jobs and 3,000 indirect jobs.
This complex, which exports primarily to the United States and Canada, houses the production of the International eMV Series, the only 100% battery-electric truck in Mexico.
