Matamoros continues to establish itself as a strategic hub for the manufacturing industry in northern Mexico, following CAS Global’s first international shipment of finished products to the United States as part of its partnership with the Canadian firm ERA Group.
This shipment marks the formal launch of operations at a new plastic injection molding plant in Matamoros, the result of a joint venture between the two companies, with an initial investment of US$3 million, in addition to job creation at two manufacturing plants in Tamaulipas and a logistics center in Brownsville, Texas.
In addition to the local impact, this project strengthens economic integration between Matamoros and Brownsville by establishing a binational model where manufacturing takes place in Mexico and distribution is coordinated from Texas to major retail chains in North America.
With this first international shipment, Matamoros is sending a clear signal to the global market: the city is strengthening its position as a competitive destination for foreign investment, the development of advanced manufacturing, and the growth of supply chains linked to nearshoring in Mexico.
