ATI invests US$80 million in forged products plant
During the Farnborough International Airshow, ATI announced an investment of US$80 million to establish an ATI Forged Products plant in Chihuahua; this project is expected to create more than 230 specialized jobs, primarily for technicians and engineers.
The official announcement was led by Chihuahua Governor Maru Campos and ATI President and CEO Kimberly Fields during the inauguration of the Mexican pavilion at the international event, which was also attended by Luis Lizcano, executive president of the Mexican Aerospace Industry Federation (FEMIA).
Maru Campos reiterated the state government’s support for promoting the growth of the aerospace industry and held discussions with Kimberly Fields regarding opportunities to strengthen the local supply chain, boost the participation of Chihuahua-based suppliers, and increase the integration of state companies into ATI’s global operations.
She also noted that international forums such as Farnborough represent an opportunity to showcase Mexico’s industrial capabilities and promote collaboration as a key factor in strengthening economic development.
For her part, Kimberly Fields acknowledged the talent available in Chihuahua and highlighted the support provided by the state government to foster the company’s growth within the aerospace industry.
ATI Materials is a company specializing in the development of advanced materials and highly specialized manufacturing processes. Its capabilities include the production of special alloys, vacuum melting processes, rolling, forging, additive manufacturing, and high-value fabrication services for the aerospace, defense, energy, electronics, and medical sectors.
