SIDE Strengthens Ties with Business Leaders to Boost Chihuahua’s Economy

Chihuahua’s Secretariat of Innovation and Economic Development (SIDE) has strengthened its ties with the business sector through a working meeting with members of Grupo 08. At that meeting, the state administration’s progress and projects related to investment, competitiveness, and the development of specialized talent were reviewed.

In addition, the head of the SIDE, Ulises Fernández, outlined the main pillars of the government’s economic policy and highlighted measures aimed at attracting and consolidating investment, strengthening competitiveness, and developing human capital to meet the needs of strategic sectors.

Grupo 08 brings together young entrepreneurs under the age of 35 from different regions of Chihuahua who are involved in sectors such as agribusiness, manufacturing, technology, services, healthcare, transportation, commerce, and food. Its purpose is to foster leadership among the younger generations and to promote initiatives that support the state’s growth and competitiveness.

At the meeting, participants discussed SIDE’s strategy for international outreach and training, which aims to expand opportunities for specialization among students and professionals in Chihuahua.

The meeting provided an opportunity for young entrepreneurs and state officials to exchange perspectives on the state’s main economic challenges and opportunities. Members of the so-called Group 08 shared their viewpoints based on the various economic sectors in which they operate.

Through this exchange, SIDE and Grupo 08 will seek to strengthen coordination between the business sector and the state government, primarily on issues related to investment, talent development, innovation, and competitiveness.
