Chihuahua State broke records in economic growth and job creation in 2014. Especially in Ciudad Juarez, where over 50 thousand formal jobs were created. According to Manufacturer and Services Industry monthly statistics, Maquiladora and Services, at the end of 2014, Chihuahua was the first place at national level with 306,439 people employed and recorded a growth of 22% in trade businesses.
The manufacturing industry, which accounts a 90% of FDI received in Mexico, represents for the State the main source of employment with 2 million occupations. The State has excelled in infrastructure investment projects such as the airport in the Municipality of Creel, which will trigger the economy in the region of the Sierra Tarahumara and the international crossing points as the Guadalupe-Tornillo port and the railway with New Mexico, in this frontier. For 2015 it is expected to have 1,500 kilometers of pipeline which will offer fuel to investors, five times cheaper than in countries of Asia. The automotive industry is also a key trigger for Chihuahua´s economy because one in every three leather vehicle seats in the world are manufactured in Delphi maquiladora in Ciudad Juarez.
