Ciudad Juarez seeks to create new automotive and medical tourism clusters

Ciudad Juarez’ specialists from the local industry and the trade and services area met with Armando Augusto Mirandez Junior, President of the Nuevo Leon’s Clusters Association, with whom they designed a strategy to create automotive and medical tourism clusters.

Carlos Yates, Director of ProMexico in Chihuahua, said that they are aiming to formally establish clusters to detonate these two sectors of the economy in Ciudad Juarez. He added that government officials must commit with the private initiative to support these clusters, allocating a budget to generate laws in order to ensure the continuity of operations even after a government administration change. Enrique Portillo, Director of the Eugenio Garza Lagüera Enterprising Institute, presented several iniciatives from each attendee, and pointed that these are the first steps for government, private initiative and academy to work united and in a collaboratively way to develop the region and attract better and more investments.
