Flextronics Company announced an initial investment per US$20 million to expand its facilities in Tijuana, Baja California. With this investment, medical equipment will be produced, a center of excellence will be created and the company will strengthen its processes, generating more job opportunities.
Carlo Bonfante Olache, Head of the Ministry of Economic Development (SEDECO), said that the Flextronics’ building has a 530,000 square feet surface for its new processes, where equipment for medical treatments will be manufactured. Besides, there are four available spaces for future expansions. Mr. Bonfante, mentioned that there are, in the State, near of 66 companies of the medical industry that perform a lot of activities, ranging from design to sterilization, and have a work force of over 40,000 employees.
