Grupo Pinsa, tuna company and owner of the Atun Dolores brand, will invest US$30 million for the construction of a new sardine canning and freezing plant, located in the port of Guaymas, Sonora, with which it will enter into the sardine global market for human consumption.
This plant will supply the local market with 92% of the production and the remaining will be destined to the U.S., during the first year. On the other hand, the Company plans to export to Central America and Europe, under the Dolores and Portola brands, in the short and medium term. This new plant will have a production capacity of 750,000 boxes per year, in a first stage, expecting to reach the 3 million boxes and a freezing capacity of 50 tons daily.
