La Moderna, a Mexican pasta manufacturer, inaugurated its new plant in the South Eastern region of Coahuila, which shall produce almost 3,000 tons of soups and pastas, mostly to export to the U.S. and the Caribbean; as well as supporting its distribution in North-Eastern Mexico and Northern Veracruz.
The industrial building, with an 8,500 square meters extension, hosts six production lines that meet the food quality and safety standards as required by Food Safety. This project has generated 97 extra direct jobs, which translates into a staff made up of 209 employees in the new plant. The Firm will benefit agricultural producers of wheat in Coahuila and Nuevo Leon, and there have been recent purchases of this raw material reaching out to some Mennonite communities in the State of Chihuahua.
