The State of Chihuahua does not need a vehicle assembly plant to drive its industrial development, as it has the potential to become one of the major destinations for supply chain, affirms Rene Mendoza, national coordinator of Mexico’s Catalog of Industrial Suppliers (CAPIM).
Mr. Mendoza says that the aerospace and automotive industries will require a 16% increase in production over the next four years, to satisfy the demand in both sectors, which is why Chihuahua must be prepared for that. Besides, Chihuahua is the State that benefits most from the business meetings held in the Bajio, since Ciudad Juarez and Chihuahua City are the “go to” places for corporations to find the work force and supply chain they need.
