U.S. firm Constellation Brands, proprietary of the beer brewer Grupo Modelo, announced a US$1.5 billion investment to build a new plant in Mexicali, Baja California. The Corporation informs that the new complex shall be ready in the next 4 or 5 years.
The building will be located near the State of California, the largest beer market for Constellation. Besides, the Company disclosed its plans to expand its Nava brewery, named after the municipality it is located in, by 2.5 million hectoliters; with this, the production capacity escalates from 25 to 27.5 million hectoliters. The estimated cost for this project is roughly US$250 million and it will be completed in early 2018.
