The projected FDI for Baja California is roughly US$2.7 billion in this 2017. US$443 million have been received already in the first trimester of the year.
The Planning and Statistics Director of the Ministry of Economic Development (SEDECO) in Tijuana, Roberto Fuentes Contreras, explained that the State has investment worth US$930 million. Additionally, companies from Taiwan, Japan and Korea will be arriving in the State over the next months, both newcomers and expansions. According to SEDECO, the investment was destined to sectors including pipeline to transport natural gas, regular air transport, manufacturing of electronic components, vehicles and trucks; as well as Banking.
