Electronics is the sector that upholds the most employment in Ciudad Juarez. According to data from the Mexican Institute of Social Security, there are 435,458 formal workers in Juarez, with 101,379 of them are working in an electronic product or component or telecommunication device factory.
This is one of the sectors that contributes the most to regional exports. Electronic goods valued at US$19 billion were exported just through the El Paso-Santa Teresa border during 2016. Daniel Cruz Peña, Tatung’s Financial Director, indicated that Juarez is attractive for the manufacture of these products, as it is located next to the U.S., the largest market in the world.
