Mexican-based Tecnoedu Bioenergy and its Israeli partner will build a new thermoelectric plant in Altamira, Tamaulipas, informed Vladimir Caballero Siguenza, Energy director of the municipality.
“There is interest among investors in building a thermoelectric plant in Altamira, it is the Mexican company Tecnoedu Bioenergy and it has an Israeli capital partner that will invest US$250 million in this project,” Caballero announced. He also said that they are currently working alongside the Energy Regulatory Commission in order to analyze the ideal place for the plant to be located.
“The project consists of three phases, the first would be generating 70 to 80 megawatts, there would be a similar capacity in the second and third phase so that, by the end, they would be able to be generate 200 megawatts of energy,” said the official.
