Flex América, the subsidiary of the India-based UFLEX, has announced that it is to invest US$9 million in the expansion of its production line in Altamira, Tamaulipas. Said company produces biaxial oriented polyester, biaxially oriented polypropylene, laminates and coated films.
“The official announcement by Flex América is of a US$9 million investment in the expansion of a production line at its plant in Altamira,” said Gonzalo Aleman, secretary of Economic Development of Altamira.
Flex América, which will celebrate its 10th anniversary operating in Altamira, will generate up to is to 200 indirect jobs and 50 direct jobs with said investment. Moreover, Altamira’s plant produces around 72,000 tons of material a year, 60% of which is exported to the United States, Central and South America.
